Bailey is a small town, and most of its food sits on Main Street or right along US-285 within a few minutes of each other. That makes it easy to plan, with one catch: many places close one or two days midweek, and some keep different hours in winter. Check each place's own site or page for current hours before you drive down the hill. This list is a planning guide, not a paid placement or an endorsement, and the order changes every day so each place takes a turn at the top.
Coffee and breakfast
- Off the Rails is a craft coffee shop in downtown Bailey at 33 County Road 68, next to McGraw Memorial Park, with pastries alongside the coffee.
- Mudslingers Drive Thru Coffee at 144 Bulldogger Drive is drive-thru only: espresso drinks, Italian sodas, and hot mini donuts from the window.
- Cutthroat Cafe at 157 Main Street is the town's breakfast and lunch diner. It opens early and closes in the afternoon, so plan it as a morning stop.
Lunch and dinner in Bailey
- 2 Dads Eatery and Taproom sits on US-285 at the North Fork of the South Platte. Pub-style food, ten beers on tap, and a full bar. Its website lists Thursday through Monday.
- Craft Mountain Brewing at 23 Main Street is a brewery and full bar with a kitchen. Its website lists Wednesday through Sunday.
- Casa Sanchez serves Mexican food with house-made tortillas, fajitas, and tacos, on US-285 in Platte Canyon. Its website lists it as open daily, which makes it the safe bet on a Tuesday or Wednesday night.
- Aspen Peak Cellars at 60750 US-285 is a winery with a lunch and dinner bistro: a dining room, a covered deck, and seasonal patio seating along the North Fork. It has live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, two to five. Its website lists Thursday through Sunday and encourages reservations, and the riverside cabanas are booked through the site.
- South Park Coney Island Boardwalk is the hot-dog-shaped diner on US-285 just outside Bailey, a roadside landmark that works for a quick lunch.
Tuesday and Wednesday are the quietest nights in town. Several of the places above list themselves as closed on one or both, while Casa Sanchez lists itself as open daily. If you check in early in the week, it is worth deciding on dinner before you leave the Conifer area.
Worth the drive
- Bucksnort Saloon at 15921 South Elk Creek Road in Sphinx Park, near Pine, is a historic mountain saloon that reopened under new ownership after sitting closed since 2022. It is open Thursday through Sunday, with live music on Saturdays; the bar posts updates on its Facebook page.
- The Shaggy Sheep at 50455 US-285 in Grant is a breakfast and lunch cookhouse up the highway toward Kenosha Pass. It posts separate summer and winter schedules, so check before a weekday drive. Grant is also the turn for Guanella Pass.
- Crossroads Pub & Grill at 16 Mt Evans Boulevard, just off US-285 at Pine Junction, is a pub and grill on the drive back toward Denver.
- Golden Pine Chinese at 67348 US-285 in Pine serves Chinese food a few minutes past Pine Junction.
Groceries and supplies
If you plan to cook at the cabin, shop on the way up. The full-size grocery stores closest to Bailey are in Conifer, right along the drive from Denver:
- King Soopers, 25637 Conifer Road in Aspen Park.
- Safeway, 27152 Main Street in Conifer.
- Pine Junction Country Store, 34375 US-285 in Pine, for the things you forgot: groceries and snacks, ice, liquor, fuel, and fishing licenses and live bait.

Good to know
Hours in a mountain town follow the seasons and the staff on hand, and they change more often than websites do. Every listing above comes from the business's own website, its official listing, or local press checked in October 2026. If something has changed, the business's own page is the one to trust. For what is happening around town on a given weekend, see our events calendar.
